OK, this morning I went into the ME, there are pop-up errors for BBBismark, DDMinekaze, DDMomi, DDMomiII, DDWakatake, and DEAkikaze that read "The unit class ClassName from country Name not found in platforms library" with the "OK" button and it goes away. The Mission Editor otherwise works just fine, ~unless~ you use certain ships, then it crashes and closes with the bog-stock standard Windows "this program has quit working..." Of note for s7rikeback, and this might just be my mangled mess of putting your naming stuff in the FotRSU stuff, but the four Japanese DD listed above are all showing as Class DE for Destroyer Escort, and they are DD for Destroyer (aka: Dirty Dog) - unless of course, the AOTD group did that incorrectly. I have no idea as to their true IJN designation. cdrsubron7 might know a bit about that. The DE Kisargi shows it text designation as Escort Destroyer instead of Destroyer Escort. It is listed with the other DE craft. There is a listing for "FF DE Akikaze", which I think the text is correct, but what's the "FF" class designation. It is listed in with the war ships. However, that one definitely "bombed" the ME application. I used all sorts of other Japanese ships and had myself a rather impressive Task Force, if I don't say so myself, and trashed it by trying to use the Akikaze... "Save often" oops!... A Single Mission created with the ME after all the stuff is put in, just so long as you stay away from the Akikaze at least, runs fine, as well as any RGG that calls for "valid" ships.

I think you mean Momi instead of Mooni, don't ya, pb? All these ships that have different nomenclature are things that Jeff and s7trikback are working on. It's become apparent at it seems that way to me that the game runs better when things are there for the game to read correctly.

Wow... see what skoolin' an' "fancy" writin' gitz ya?... Yes, I do mean Momi. For some reason, I made me a cute, little curly Q on the little "M" in the middle... Changed above - maybe.
As another little thing, the Ise is missing in action in the ME. Can't find me one (or two or three or more, like in stock)... tic
btw, I made me another little Task Force of 2x CV, 1x CA, 2x CL, 2x DD & 2x DE, along with the Catapult ship that are directly North of my location by like 100km, and a RGG of a bunch of GENERIC ships, with a BB, CA, 2xCL, 4 DD and 3 DE coming from the North, and a little further back. The plan is for my boat to engage the main body prior to the rest of the fleet's screen arriving and take out a flattop or two... wow. Two planes found me within 15km of my journey, and I took me some heavy damage... I think I'll go back in and scrap the Narwhal idea, and get me a boat with some better long-distance "eyes"...

On another note. You've got you're hands full right now with the mis.files. Why don't you let me check out my old missions and see what has to be done to refurbish them. I've got TMO+RSRDC loaded so I should be able to get them to function and look at them in the ME. To get the missions to work in FOTRSU I think is an impossibility. Too many differences between TMO+RSRDC and FOTRSU. I'll look at them this coming weekend and refresh my memory on what needs to be done. Besides it will give me something to do while we wait on Jeff and s7trikback to finish up their work on the ships.

Yeah, I'll run that script stuff privateer just put up above, put the results in that thread, and we'll see who thinks what is what, then run more scripts to change all the MIS files to the new naming convention... maybe. It might be privateer - - if I can't recall any of my old thinking ways... Right now, my brain is like a wood filing cabinet from 1956, that hasn't been sorted since 1978, was involved in a house fire in 1984, and has done nothing but get stuff crammed into it for the last thirty years, un-sorted... !!!
