I don't like hiding stuff BUT! There comes a time when a separate place to do real work is mandated. This is our Boat submerged. Silent running to do somethings that the main Forum at Subsim is just not the right place at times. I am not promoting a Mutiny. I'm opening a way forwards that works! I've been here and done this before!

This is a lot like phpBB, but cleaner... I'm in though...
I understand about the "submerged" part and silent running.

OK. Start a thread that only concerns what your work is. Keep that stuff in there. I'll have a thread about fixes to Units. By having different threads about issues? It's easier to follow things.
Nothing is secret and you can post at Subsim. This is just a way to organize what is going on.

You'll see new boards going up for us as I get the hang of this.

Man, had to leave the computer upstairs so the wife could do here bookface thingie...
1. Campaign Layer - which may or may not involve runaway spawning, but is influenced by 2. Ship names and imports 3. Take out the trash 4. Notes for future users? Like minimum specs, which used to be easy in the DOS days, 'cause you just looked at the footprint... 5. My brain is stuck right now and can't think of a couple others... 6. Mods, which would probably get split further a. Maru Names b. Sound c. etc.
??

I think I see how the fixes that Jeff-Groves and s7rikeback did aren't in the v.26 core, and that's that RR didn't have the files. I don't think he saw s7rikeback's link to DropBox or whatever it was that you used, and since he didn't see it in his folder on the Google Drive (it's all in the "Jeff's Stuff", right??), it didn't get in the build. maybe. "I didn't do it, I wasn't there when it happened, and I had no prior knowledge..."

Also need a thread for contents of the next cauldron run. That way everyone knows what's coming up, what's postponed for the next run, what is going to be a plugin mod. It also allows anyone to say "WAIT!!!" if I'm going to do a cauldron run just before something important would be left out. We'll have a thread per release so we have archives to trace development if we need to fall back a level.

This forum is not hidden so anyone can view it as you may have noticed. I really don't want to hide it and repeat old stuff from years past. If We get bombed we might restrict posting in some areas?

Great idea. Even telling people in the Subsim thread that this forum exists wouldn't be out of line. The last thing we want to do is have people thinking we have bad things to hide. That's happened before at kickinback, even though that was a public forum. But the stuff going on the SHOULD have been hidden. It got pretty hateful for no valid reason. People at Subsim would think a lot less of some mod authors if they knew about kickinback. That stuff isn't happening here.
Hopefully people will not totally bomb this forum, but will ask great questions and contribute great ideas.

That's the way I'm thinking. Subsim is great but to try and organize our work is nearly impossible there. Some days so many posts hit the thread you have to try to go back several pages. There's always the Moderator area here if someone does not want something openly expressed.

And when GWX had their private forum over at Subsim there was no end to hateful things being said about it. Some people can't stand it when others are getting work done!

Send a PM to Hitman with a link to here. He did advise to separate things so figured he'd be a good one to show we ain't hiding stuff.
