OK, I have no idea how some of my "Search" terms snuck through (ee-yeah, right...) but, the new big question for me:
I've got a few missions where they say like[Group 1] <-- if this formats correctly here like this... - it did not GroupName=Jap <-- so far, so good CommandUnitName=JP Big old Tanker#1 <-- say whuh??
when you look in the ME, in the Explorer, it's "TK JP Big old Tanker#1" - can't find a listing for that in any of the Roster stuff... It's 'Properties' page in ME says "Class = Large Old Tanker" - well, OK, I can find that... I think... there it is, towards the end of the list...T07b=Large old Tanker...
All I'm wanting to do is double-check assets called in these MIS files, and this having to look in three different files is getting *very* tiring... where's my coffee? How long 'till the Cubbies come on the tellie?...
What I'm getting at is that this is a very archaic system they set up back when... Why have "aliases" that point to "aliases"??... |;^) shtinking "C" language programmers and their pointers started all this mis-direction stuff...
Another question, along the same lines, for some Mission Guru:
Why would a person put 993 "Map Locations" into their Single Mission files? The files are *huge* (for a text file). Just to see if they can? I can't tell as any of them are in use. What it looks like is that the FotRS "Team" had an idea, but did not fully implement it. Most of the Map Locations are calling for things like "Verysmall_Pacific_Harbor_II.dds and .dat... Any ideas from anyone?
