OK, apparently, in the Roster Names.cfg, ~WE~ changed the Conte Verde name sometime from "PLConteVerde=Old Liner" to "PLConteVerde=WWI Liner". Does that make a difference though in the ship's "validity" in the game? I don't understand this Roster to Catalog to Sea relationship, where the same ship is called maybe three different things... So the PLConteVerdes calls the NPL_Conter_Verde stuff... and "Old Liner" and "WWI Liner" doesn't matter, right?...
I've sort of got the dual core going again, but it's throwing an error now for the Mission Editor about the PLConteVerde (might be the NPL_Conte_Verde - I'll have to look) not being in the catalog, just like the Bismarck was doing before... The other computer does not do that, though I've got a different install order...

The other computer does not do that, though I've got a different install order... In my limited experiences, I would say no. As the roster prefix PLConteVerde has not been altered in any shape or form.. The name after the PLConteVerde= XXXX can be changed as much as needed or required. Sea cfg[Unit] ClassName=PLConteVerde -------> This is what the game calls for during game play, and missions. This name is also the roster name found in the Data > Roster > Country > Sea Folder. 3DModelFileName=data/Sea/NPL_Conte_Verde/EuroLiner UnitType=109 MaxSpeed=21 Length=173.74 Width=22.56 Mast=42 Draft=7.5 Displacement=18765 RenownAwarded=900 CrewComplement=400 SurvivalRate=80 SurvivalPercentage=40=================================================== Roster cfg[UnitClass] ClassName=PLConteVerde -------> This is the linked name from the main cfg in the Data > Sea > Ship Folder. UnitType=109 AppearanceDate=19411207 DisappearanceDate=19451201 DisplayName=JP Huge European Liner -------> This name would only be selected if there was NO PLConteVerde= XXXX value set up in the Data > Roster > Names.cfg.
[Texture 1] TextureName=data/Sea/NPL_Conte_Verde/EuroLiner_T01.tga LightmapTextureName=data/Sea/NPL_Conte_Verde/EuroLiner_O01.tga NormalmapTextureName=data/Sea/NPL_Conte_Verde/EuroLiner_N01.tga StartDate=19000101 EndDate=19990101 Frequency=1
[Unit 1] Name=Unidentified DOC=19411207 DOD=19451201
[Unit 2] Name=Kotobuki Maru DOC=19421205 DOD=19450508
I hope some of that makes sense.

Back to this jaybird again... It will not run in the Mission Editor, and is called throughout the war in the Jap_TroopConvoy MIS files. There are a couple-three ways I got it to go, but I'm going to put this up to max-peck, s7rikeback and Privateer to decide upon, since you guys are the experts at the ships and skinning... Anyway, to it:
All the MIS files that call for PLConteVerde and WW1 Liner, use the Game Folder / Data / Roster / Japan / Sea / PLConteVerde.cfg, which has (in my current install):
[UnitClass] ClassName=PLConteVerde UnitType=109 AppearanceDate=19411207 DisappearanceDate=19451201 DisplayName=JP Huge European Liner ... etc. ------------------------- Game Folder / Data / Roster / Names.cfg has:
... PLConteVerde=WWI Liner ... -------------------------
Game Folder / Data / Sea / NPL_Conte_Verde / NPL_Conte_Verde.cfg has:
[Unit] ClassName=PLConteVerde 3DModelFileName=data/Sea/NPL_Conte_Verde/EuroLiner UnitType=109 MaxSpeed=21 ... etc. ------------------------------------
the rest of the folder has these files:
... EuroLiner_N01.dds ... EuroLiner_shp.dds ... NPL_Conte_Verde_shp.dds ...
Among the 28 files. I'm almost certain some of those files are from max-peck and his Razzle Dazzle, which I don't want to lose. There is an NPL_Conte_Verde.cfg file, but there is NOT a Euroliner.cfg file...
As I said, I can get it to work, just by changing what gets pointed to in my cfg file, but I've probably ruined the Razzle Dazzle. With that, I'll leave it to you guys to hash out which way to go with it. In the meantime, it puts the kibosh on all of the 4Xx_Jap_TroopConvoy.mis files in the campaign.

Oooh... pretty. You gave it its own first-class berth (folder). I'm on the tablet right now, and can't actally "see" the ship, but I'd say that does the trick. Thanks.

NKPMCS_Express
NOL_Schliemann

All now in correct naming convention - running from their own "berth"

Well, I can still run the Museum, just not real well. btw, that TOGO ship, is also in the Japanese section, along with the German. Tonight, the Museum crashed after showing me the NACA4, which appeared to have a white flag. No meatball on it, but since it's hard to tell when the computer crashes in the Museum, it just may not have finished displaying it. I was starting to write things down, as to who was naked, who was partially dressed, and who had on their dress whites, but I'm thinking that since this little dual-core has issues any way, I wouldn't count it as valid, so I'll check it later on the big machine... Well, I'm off to see if the ConteVerde runs in the Campaign... We'll worry about proper duds later.
