OK, near as I can tell, The Campaigns / Campaign and sub-folders have been searched and corrections to called ships have been made. I'm in the process at this time, of "playing" them in the Mission Editor. When I did this the other day, I ran into issues with airplanes, so this will probably happen again, and it's probably going to be this evening or tonight (Eastern Time) before I've got a "CampaignFolder" of some name 7z file up. Any further changes to ships or airplanes is not that big of a deal to implement here later. In the meantime

Type 11 BB sorted, some to Type 19, a few to 20
Type 7 CA sorted, some to Type 18
Type 6 CL sorted, some to Type 18

There are still at least 2 of each class left for "GENERIC" calls

Type 3 DE sorted, corrected for several classes to Type 4 DD

CVS Chitose Type=18
NKSS_Cat Type=18
NAuxCru Type=18 - none used in game...

MNO13 (013??) Type=3 - none used, DE Shimushu / Etorofu Escorts

COKaibakan Type=3 - none used in game

DASitori Type=1 - none used in game = DD Kanamura ?? say whuh??

SCSubChaser Type=3

JPAuxCruiser Type=13 - Armed Merchant, not to be confused with Type=18...

... and I double-checked quite a few other variants, such as PLConteVerde and variations of their names, just in case. I'm sure there's more of that kind of stuff.

In addition to the ships, I've also been through and hopefully eliminated ALL the RGG called for that have a Leader that did not spawn at 100% rate. I do not trust anything less than 100% for a Leader. It would probably also be a really good idea to keep the Waypoint counts below a certain threshold, if we just had a clue as to what an acceptable number for that is...

I also want to go through the different layers and eliminate about 1/3 of the RGG, specifically in the Harbor Traffic and Coastal Traffic layers. We'll try to add-in some TMO-style SubHunter stuff, which would be like Auxilary Harbor Traffic, if you will. Basically stay-put stuff that moves as the Japanese sphere of influence does. We also want to double-check the Config files for proper names of the mis files...

I'll have to make me up a "Tutorial" for you guys on using the ME for testing the campaign files, and distribute those files to you, and let you all "play" them in your Mission Editors too. I also might make each one into a Single Mission kind of thang, by adding a Player's Boat in each one, and then just have us play them one at a time, with a "Map" of where each of the Groups would be, approximately. What we want to ~really~ test for is if we CTD with the Recognition Manual, or a torpedo impact...

Can any of you think of anything else to look for in the Campaign layers?

OK, I'm finished with my initial run-through of the Campaign Layer, not adding ANYTHING to it yet, and I do have issues in the East Asia Campaign file that I'm still trying to track down. Probably something easy that I missed. The only other trouble is the PLConteVerde, so if I get this going this evening, I'll post back in a little bit with the Campaign zip and hope for a quick resolution to the WW1 Liner problem.

It's all the files in the Data / Campaigns / Campaign folder, but NOT the ones in DynamicMis and PatrolObjectives. Those have been gone through, but like a few other files, I'm not sure how they work together just yet. Just remember, the PLConteVerde will throw errors, and the 4Xx_Jap_TroopTransport.mis may bomb. Then again, it may not... It just doesn't run on my computer (yet). As for an issue I had with the East Asia Campaign file, there were multiple issues... The easy one was that there were two King George BBs called for, both named #1. That didn't work too well. Then there was a Takao CA that I still had as a Type=7, and it should have been an 18. Easy enough to find those. One that was staring me in the face for a bit was multiple calls for the same DD in multiple Groups. I didn't notice it at first, due to the names Akatsuki, Akizuki and Asashio being so similar, especially to tired, old eyes... The Akatsuki was not involved though. What they were doing was as a Group was defined, they'd put an Akizuki as Lead. But then, when they'd "make" the ship, they'd call it Akizuki #x (whatever the number), but call for a DDAsashio instead. Five and six times in each of like 6 groups. Didn't look right, but that's the way the file was... So after looking up the two classes online, I decided that the Akizuki would not have been available in the Burma theatre until later in 1942, so all the calls became Asashio #x (whatever the number). If anyone has any further info on the ships, I'd be glad to "hear" it, and we can go the other way with it... maybe... :wink:

btw, I did no "trash clean-up" in this. Any extra files you already have in the folder, should still be there when you activate this with JSGME. To eliminate possible issues, you could always "Cut" the MIS files in the Campaign folder and stow them away for safe-keeping elsewhere on the computer. Just be sure to leave the DynamicMis and PatrolObjectives folders in there...

Whoops!!! Not only did I not take out the trash, I also included the other two folders and their respective files in them, needlessly adding to the download size and the JSGME activation list size... Sorry folks, won't happen again, until the next time... There are edited files in there though, so that's fine... maybe... not tested!
