Hello cdrsubron7, when you asked s7rikeback to make a copy of the US ASSubTender for the IJN, did you have any particular IJN class in mind with that? I can't find anything used by the IJN in my searches, not that that's surprising. I have a hard time finding all sorts of stuff in my "Searches"... Just curious, mostly because there is no Names.cfg listing for it, which might a bit of an issue later (hello s7rikeback, is it a necessity?). In the meantime, I found something ~very~ interesting (to me anyway). Look at this picture, and see if you can tell what ship it is...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Prairie_(AD-15)#/media/File:USS_Prairie_AD-15.jpg
and compare it to:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Fulton_(AS-11)#/media/File:USS_Fulton_(AS-11)_1942.jpg
notice also the similarities in numbering, and the "A" designation...
I'd much rather find a WWII history site, but alas, very little is mentioned of IJN Sub Tenders (or Depot Ships), but I did find this:
#/media/File:Japanese_submarine_depot_ship_Taigei_in_1935.jpg" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_aircraft_carrier_Ry%C5%ABh%C5%#/media/File:Japanese_submarine_depot_ship_Taigei_in_1935.jpg
and
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Japanese_Navy_ships_and_war_vessels_in_World_War_II#/media/File:Two_japanese_Jingei-class_submarine_tenders.jpg
but neither ship is as big as the USN vessel, and the first one there, the Taigei turned into the Ryuho, of all things, in 1942. There were a couple other classes of theirs I found, but they were all smaller than these.
Now, check this dude out:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Markab#/media/File:AD-21_Markab.jpg
I wouldn't be surprised if we don't have something in the Merchant vessels that could be cloned for that...
I cannot find evidence of the IJN using those, but I have found a few that were used for food supplies for the fleet...
